Teams
that know they will not be attending the State tournament must notify ASAA and
the Region so that they can contact the next qualifying team. The board will be revising the state
tournaments bid criteria for hosting these events. The board will be adopting minimum
consequences regarding drugs and alcohol, the plan will put into effect a first
offense of ten days out of the sport, second offense 45 days, third offense, 1
year and 4th offense athlete will no longer be eligible the rest of
their career. Schools must apply for
ASAA membership by the first board meeting to be eligible for the yearly
activities. More conversation regarding
correspondence athletes. The proposal
would classify Raven and Idea and would only be allowed to compete with that
team. They must notify ASAA and the host
site in at least two weeks before the meet for them to be allowed to compete. They will not be eligible for regional or
conference awards. Students have to sit
out 18 school weeks from the date of enrollment, if that occurs during the
summer ASAA is not granting it. They
will be trying to clarify this next meeting.
ASAA will be looking to impose a fine for those who do not send in their
Master Eligibility Forms before the first competition. ASAA is looking for Region III nominations
